About CHAC

Cheltenham Housing Aid Centre (CHAC) was founded in April 1988 with a small grant from Cheltenham Borough Council. The grant was given to establish a centre where residents or potential residents of Cheltenham could obtain free, independent advice regarding any housing issues. Soon afterwards CHAC became a registered charity with a board of trustees.

CHAC has grown and changed with the increasing complexity of needs over the years. However, our core aim of providing free, independent housing advice remains at the heart of our work.

CHAC is a member of Advice UK which is the UK's largest support network for Free, Independent advice centres. Advice UK was founded in 1979 as the Federation of Independent Advice Centres (FIAC).
